Does anyone know anout this skin disease? Thx

Hi Everyone.      Last year in my quest for a clean bill of health before I got married I decided to have the "spots" I have on my legs checked out.  I've had these "Spots" for about 3 years and my estitician thought they might be sun damage.  Once in a while I would get hives on my legs and it would be VERY itchy but the hives would heal in less than an hour.

I recently read an article in Macleans magazine about Chrisitne Jackson who is the executive director of CSPA. Her story is similar to mine and was hoping this site could direct me to better medical care.

I have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. I have the arthritis under control and no longer need pain killers. I did this by changing my diet and lifestyle. I still have some symptoms of arthhritis but not the "fat fingers" and pain. I can do many things that I thought I would not be able to do, such as skiing and opening jars! LOL! Lately my psoriasis has flared up a little and I am trying to figure out why.  I am looking for diet related  answers if I can get them.  I look forward to joining this community.G.

Just back from the weekend meeting, met some wonderful people and enjoyed the  presentations and discussions. I believe a lot can be achieved if we have more time for q & a, share/create ideas and stratigies with concrete purposes and goals to bring about relief for those who suffer needlessly. I hope we all have the opportuinity to do so in the not too distant future.

And now I wanted to start a discussion/blog on what I have been doing to try and live with it and try to "make it go away".

After being paraded around in front of 30 or so dermatologists this rare disease is not getting the time and effort I thought it should.  I was given Retin A cream and to stay out of the sun.  Not that much to go on and of course, nothing really changed.

For a couple years I found an eczema like rash appearing in my neck every time winter hit.  The extreme cold and dryness made my skin literally crawl to the point it was red, chapped, and hurt like a sun burn - no itching and no blistering.
Thinking I just had to load on more Vitamin E moisturizer I got through a couple winters like this.  I'm also a red head with the cliche pale skin and freckles so I didn't think much about this sensitivity as I have always been sensitive to weather and the sun in particular.
 

I've just been diagnosed with having stasiss dermatitis....anyone have or know anything about this?
